We went into the election booth,
thinking our vote could make a difference,
but our votes were thrown out by election gangsters,
or found burning in a garbage dump.
We thought that the humble, printed word
could describe our hopes for a better life
in a tortured and divided country,
But we were gagged by the tyranny of the media.
We desired a country that breathed life,
A country’s government that would help us
to live life to the fullest in all its rugged simplicity,
But it was endless war and poverty we were given.
